LOUIS N. LAPIERRE hails from the cold north woods of Minnesota. He was born, learned to walk and create. He is still walking, and doesn't remember when he began painting. His favorite thing to do is watch, and his second is to paint. Louis uses art to find comfort in the uncomfortable, and a way to cope with the inevitable. Since his graduation from CVA in Saint Paul Minnesota in 2005 he has adopted a vigorous art practice in a variety of mediums. His work can be seen in many venues and on projects such as album covers, steel, books, galleries, films, private collections and murals across the U.S.A.

Like many kids growing up in the city, BORN began to tag his name around town, butas he grew older his aspirations developed beyond simple vandalism. As his skills progressed, he began drawing influence from M.C. Escher and the sketches of Leonardo, at which point his letters, the basis of graffiti writing, began to change. His style became more gridded and mathematical, more abstract than legible. The abandoned buildings and polluted underpasses, places in which graffiti thrives, still inform the aesthetics of Born’s fine art as well as his career as an auto mechanic. He incorporates the grime and trash of the neglected spaces with the grease, scraps of metal, and rust of the auto shop to create images of beauty composed of the things we usually associate with ugliness. Born has exhibited at Mason Murer Gallery (with Hense and Sever) and Foundation One Gallery in Atlanta, DB5K Gallery in Baltimore, and has done commission work for Scion Autos and International Hits Records.

ELIZABETH WEBER began painting as soon as she was able to get her fingers dirty. She was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, and moved to Atlanta at age 16 to study painting and drawing at the Atlanta College of Art. In the middle of her schooling, the college merged with the Savannah College of Art and Design, pushing her to take time off to pursue a more intensive and unique way of painting. Living in her studio in Atlanta and painting full time enabled her to build a body of work in the city for the next year showing her paintings and drawings in numerous locations. She began accepting commissions for oil portraits and other paintings, and used these resources to perfect her ability to capture each image on canvas exactly as it was envisioned. This realistic painting-technique was so enjoyable that it began shaping her own style. She has showed her work around the mid-west at several locations including galleries and in private collections, as well as assisting in murals, appearing as a guest artist, and participating in art festivals. Elizabeth Weber currently resides in Chicago, painting full-time.
Born in Minneapolis, SAM PARKER was a part of the first wave of graffiti in the city, eventually becoming a member of the nationally known crew AKB. When a large number of the crew moved to Atlanta, Sam followed suit and continued to advance with his graffiti as well as his new profession in tattoos. The worlds of tattoo and graffiti have often overlapped, but when Sam enrolled in the fine arts program at Kennesaw state, other influences began to seep into his work. Taking elements from each: the words and flow of graffiti, the shading and imagery of tattoos, and the creativity and detail of Max Ernst and others; Sam’s work has blossomed into a synthesis of his three major influences. Sam has exhibited at Dactyl and Mccaig Welles in New York, Intermedia Arts in Minneapolis, and most recently a solo exhibition at Youngblood Gallery in Atlanta.

Born in Miami, Florida, STEVEN DIXEY moved to Sarasota where he attended The Ringling College of Art and Design. While lately he’s been developing primarily as a painter, Steven majored in sculpture, a skill which he now uses to create intricate frames for his work. His paintings reinterpret the imagery of Rococo and Baroque era painting by juxtaposing them with modern elements of war and mass media. His love of secret societies especially the Masons is also prevalent in his work both in iconography and a general adherence to symmetry. Steven Dixey has exhibited his work at the Red Dot Art Fair in New York, Eyedrum in Atlanta, Nog Gallery in London, [5]Art in Tampa, and Definition Gallery in Baltimore.
Although based in New York, MATT RELKIN's friendship with Atlanta artists Steven Dixey, Jason Murphy, and Stenvik Mostrom (all graduates of the Ringling College of Art and Design) led to his involvement with our Ringling Brothers group show in 2008. In 2009, he debuted his first solo exhibit at Young Blood Gallery in Atlanta with work that serves as a precursor to "The Big Bang". He was recently interview by Fecal Face Dot Com, as well as being featured on Juxtapoz.com. Much of Matt's recent imagery has focused on the Black Tower, dark monoliths that loom ominously over his meticulously created landscapes. These objects represent the dark side of human existence, and are as much beautiful and attracting as they are stark and foreboding. In contrast, images such as The Big Bang are "meant to be a reminder of the beauty of creation, which stands in complete contrast to everything the Black Towers represent."
