Toy cameras, such as the popular Holga brand, are mass-produced cheap cameras. They are often made of plastic and function with very few (if any) controlled settings. Because of such limitations as light leaks, a lack of sharpness, and a misleading viewfinder they require the artist to work harder in order to capture their desired aesthetic. The photographer must give up the command that conventional cameras provide and experiment with the minimalist palette that these models provide.
